Bangalore- Shimoga

Our journey started from Bengaluru , We left B'lore 04/01/2010 at 10.30 PM. As It was Deepavali holiday so obviously we got struck in the Great Bangalore Traffic. We reached shimoga 05/11/2010 5.30AM .
Distance : 240 KM
Journey Hours : 6 hrs
How to reach : Lots of bus available from Blore to Shimoga (both Govt & Private).
Even train facility is very well available.

Shimoga-Jog
We reached Shimoga early morning 5.30AM, we freshed up in bus stand itself and started our journey towards Jog falls, Luckily We got one direct bus to Jog falls.We left Shimoga at 6.15 AM and reached jog falls by 9.30.
Distance :Shimoga -Sagara : 75 KM
Sagar - Jog falls : 35 KM
Shimoga-Jog : 110KM
Journey hrs : 2.5hr - 3 hr [From Shimoga-Jog]
How to reach : Via NH 206 Shimoga-Sagara-Talaguppa-Jog falls.From Shimoga & Sagara you have many bus to jog falls (every 30 min).

Jog-Sripura

Distance : 5 KM

Sripura-Talaguppa

Distance : 13 KM

Journey Hrs: 20-30 min

Talaguppa-Sirsi

Distance : 55 KM

Journey Hrs: 1 hr 30 min

How to reach : You have bus from Sagar via Talaguppa and Siddapura. Many KSRTC bus are there to reach Sirsi.

Sirsi-Ummachigi

Distance : 32 KM

Journey Hrs: 45 min

How to reach : Again KSRTC bus. The bus which goes to Yellapur will stop in Ummchagi.

Ummachigi-Magod

Distance : 35 KM

Journey Hrs: 1 hr

How we Reached : We took " Baadige Bike - Bike for Rent " from Ummachagi and went through a inner road through the many beautiful small villages

How to reach : You can reach Magod falls in 2 routes (I guess No Busses).

1. Inner village route which is known to local people.

2.You will go till, Yellapur before that you will take left at Magod cross that leads to Magaod Falls.(Road is good in this route)

3.You take Bike for rent in Ummachagi or in Yellapur.

Before you start Visiting any places in Uttarkannada District its better that you should go with your own vehicle.

Magod-Jenkalgudda (HoneyRock Mountain)

Distance : 8 KM

Journey Hrs: 15 min

How to reach : From Magod Falls drive 2-3 km then you will find a direction board which will take you to the Jenukalgudda.

Ummachigi-Sirsi-Unchalli Falls

Distance From Sirsi : 35 KM

Journey Hrs: 1 hr

How we reached : we reached by Bus till a village called Heggarne,from theare we took Bike and reacked Magod falls

How to reach : From Sirsi you can reach by bus, till a village called Heggarne. From there its just 4 KM you can walk or you can take bike.

Unchalli falls-Yana

Distance : 55 - 60 KM

Journey Hrs: 1 hr 30 min

How we reached : We took bike in Heggarne and went to Magod falls then with same bike we went to Yana in in inner route via Kalkunda - Manjguni-yana.

How to reach : Ideally to reach Yana will be1.from Sirsi : You have busses till Yana cross from there you have to walk 5 km (bus frequency is very less)2.From Unchalli falls : Inner Village route Via Kalkunda - Manjuguni - Yana.
